On the occasion of Milan Design Week, a small interior space in the Brera district becomes an immersive sensory journey where light is the protagonist, engaging visitors in an unexpected succession of spaces and sensations. The journey begins from the outdoor area, an open-air lounge that welcomes visitors with an elevated L-shaped seating, emphasized by a line of light that follows its profile, recalling the brand’s logo in shape and colors. It’s a sort of protected “island” in front of the entrance, from which one begins to glimpse, through the glass, details and reflections that intrigue and invite visitors to enter and discover the temporary space. A place to stay before and after the visit to converse, toast, and observe.

Inside, a stylized simulation of a facade unites the ground floor with the mezzanine, separating the full-height entrance area from the rear, dedicated to an emotional journey on the ground floor and a reserved area for operators on the first floor. A staircase and a balcony characterize the facade, connecting the two levels and offering an alternative viewpoint to visitors who can climb up and look out over the parapets.

In the main full-height environment, earth and sky are inverted; the floor becomes a reflection of a suspended garden where volumes, shapes, and colors descend towards the observer. Some hexagons draw the floor, recalling the stylistic choices of the stand present inside the Salone del Mobile. In this bright space open to the outside, light, with its color changes, envelops the walls, designs openings on the reconstructed facade, and outlines accents on the vegetation to create an ever-changing and enveloping scenario. In contrast to the brightness of this environment, through a crack in the facade, one enters a deliberately dark space where a special installation combines lights, images, and sounds. Here, nature is evoked and interpreted by an unusual interior, inspired by an L&L product that becomes the protagonist and is dressed in new light. After the emotional journey interlude, one returns again enveloped by the light of an “exterior inside.”

The visit allows each visitor to create their own individual path, a personal experience that engages the senses; not only sight and orientation but also listening to sounds, noises, and melodies, to which is added the perception of unexpected aromas, chosen to make the visiting experience even more immersive.

L&L products are present in the setup in a veiled manner, interpreted and integrated into the design of the different environments, each with a specific function to highlight their chromatic and luminous performance. The protagonist of L&L’s Fuorisalone is the quality of light.
